How does 1989 compare to Red?

But I keep cruising, can’t stop, won’t stop moving
It’s like I got this music in my mind, saying it’s gonna be alright (insp.)

Writing ‘Red’, I was 21 and 22 and back then I think my priorities were different. My priorities were, I was very enamored by romance and the idea of that. At 24, at this point, I’m just really like, I just want to be with my friends, and I wanna make music, and I wanna play shows, and I wanna travel the world, and I want to define my life on my own terms. That’s my list of priorities now which is different than it was a couple years ago.

Celebrities doing the ALS ice bucket challenge

wow im really happy that all of these wealthy people would prefer doing this than donating money to a charity that will save lives

Okay, I’m a stop you right there. Yes, the basis of the challenge is dump water on your head or donate. But what this challenge is meant to do is RAISE AWARENESS. People who see this end up wondering and then learning what ALS is. And who better to spread the message than celebrities?

People who do the challenge are also still asked to make a donation, and to pass on the challenge. This is good. These celebrities are raising awareness, spreading the message, and probably still donating. But hey, they’re horrible people because they participated in this right? It would ‘ve been better if they wrote a check and never told anyone about it at all.

fun reminder that lady gaga also did this and then donated $10,000 to the foundation and i doubt she’s the only one to do that so pls chill

Charlie Sheen did that too I think

I think my life has changed in ways that have surprised me. You know, deciding to spend my time in New York, cutting my hair, becoming all of a sudden surrounded by this great group of strong, beautiful, smart women who challenge me and push me forward. Those are all changes in my life, and you know, I think with this album, I try not to do anything too overtly, like yes my life is consisting of priority on friends right now, but I dont have any song that’s like, Best Friends Anthem!, like I really am trying to put these messages across subtlety and tell stories where kind of those aspects of my life are felt rather than kind of said to you.
